Jason, love the resto job on that Wayne, but Coops, I like your "as found" look too. I am wondering why you are "done with restoring pumps with pretty paint" Maybe we should start a thread on that subject. John

Don't get me wrong, I loved restored pumps to. I've restored many over the years but I'm just into that "as found" look right now. Jason and Mick I think your pumps look awesome!

I really didn't buy anything too extraordinary in 2009 - but The Keeper mamaged to expand her Ice Cream Globe collection last spring.
She bought this single original 16.5" lens in an original body at auction out of California. She didn't want it shipped, so the auction house delivered it to me in Iowa in August.
Come to find out - the body had a 7" base and the cabinet she displays them on will only accept a 6" based globe body.
So I took the original body and swapped it for one of our reproduction bodies. As you can see, I painted it solid Orange and made a solid Orange 'frosted' lens for the back. This way, the 'glow' behind the body matches the color of the lens.

Later . . .
Jim

Here is my BOTY, my Wayne 866 barn find. It wasn't really a buy since it was free, but definately my best find of the year! It's "sleeping" now until spring in the unheated garage, but I hope to have the restoration done by this summer. Darin
