A friend just bought this super clean original paint/decal Bennett 541 today and we were wondering what this decal meant? "High Compression" Anti-Rust Anti-Stall Anti-Icing This pump has a very old 12' long hose that's been on it forever. Is it possible this was an avaition pump or? We have never had one with this decal before.

I believe it is just adevertising that Sinclair HC is high compression and the additives in the fuel prevent the other items listed.
Nice pump.

A 12' hose ain't long enough to fuel a plane. In the hangers here [World Famous SANTA PAULA airport], they used 20'+ hoses & most were piped to overhead then hose was lowered by a rope & pulley to fuel plane.

12 foot hose could of been used for semi trucks or trucks with a double tanks

I read some where, Sinclair H-C stood for Houston concentrate. Does that sound right?

Sinclair H-C definitely stood for High Compression. I wonder if the decal on this pump is an earlier version of the RD-119 additive decals that were used on Sinclair pumps in the 50s?

Just a comment on your Sinclair H-C pump and decal. Sinclair H-C actually, according to the "Sinclair Through 50 Years" book written by Sinclair Corporation, meant "Houston Concentrate" named after their new Houston refinery at that time-1926. According to the book the marketing men dubbed it "High Compression." There is only one known Sinclair globe, a one piece baked, dated 1928, that says "High Compression" but it was used on the US side of the Canadian border to attract Canadian buyers to the US side. Canada used their own High Compression globe-not a Sinclair so Sinclair became competitive with this. Can't say I've seen this exact decal though. Nice pump! Scott Benjamin

I read the same thing in the Sinclair book. I do not recall ever seeing that decal either.
