a lady i know has a mobilgas globe(pegusas with mobilgas underneath)she says it's from the 60s.white plastic body.she wants $200.00 for it and that sounds kind of high.it looks older,but i don't know how to tell.i'd like it,but don't know if it's worth that kind of money.don,t know much about globe prices.looks the same as #G148 in vics book,except with white body.any info would be appreciated thanks mick

If it doesn't say Licensed By Mobil along the bottom edge, chances are it's the legit deal. I have people sometimes say that they think Texaco's are repo because of the trademark at the bottom of the lens. There's a difference between the company putting their trademark on their items originally and the licensing text you see on today's reproductions. Keyword being 'licensed' as that would imply a 3rd party making the product...i.e. repo's.
