I had a fellow call me yesterday about a tire sign he had for sale, so I went and looked at it today! I don't ever remember having seen one before and from the lettering on the sign, it looks to be very old! The darker area on the bottom half of the sign has some dirt on it that will clean up easily and the overall gloss is very good! The only damage is limited to the outer edges where the rivet holes would be and there doesn't seem to be any crazing of the porcelain. I have no idea on the age or value of this one. I can usually find it in a book or one of my friends will have an idea but no luck so far!
Does anyone have have an idea of a fair price to pay for this sign? I really like it but the owner seems to think its pretty valuable. He probably watched the "Pickers" show! LOL By the way--it measurers 18 inches by 5 feet!
Any help is appreciated!---KEVIN

Thanks guys! He wants $500 and I had offered $200. He wasn't offended but said he had paid too much for it. I liked it, but a better one will come along. "All good things come to those who wait."
Anyone else on value??

Kevin, I was going to say $125-$175. But, I'm usually low in my pricing, I wonder if that's the reason I keep coming up short when I bid on signs???? LOL

Kevin:
The pictures show some warpage along with the chips. I'd say that the $125-175 range would be right....Just my opinion...Dale

I have the same sign. I believe the orange and blue colors were used prior to the blue and white that is more often seen. From the pictures, it looks like it only has some chips by the gromets and a bend at the top right corner? If the stain will come off, it would be a nice sign. Mine is aprox 17 X 71 inches. I have also seen them vertical. Not great graphics but mine has great color and gloss/ shine to it. I think $500 is sort of high.

It's old, colorful, and not in bad shape. You can buy ***** Barn Hangars for 100-200, That sign should bring $300 anyday

Thank you very much for all the replys! It sure makes it easier when you have so much experience to turn to for answers! I really appreciate the advice from each and every one of you!
If the sign was a lot better, I might see spending the money, but I think its overpriced from what all of you have indicated. Thanks again---KEVIN
