I hear a lot of discussion regarding collecting paper oil quart cans, both pro and con. Personally, I include paper cans in my displays because of good graphics and because several are not available in tin. Here are a few examples.

Well at least I'm not the only one who buys composite oil cans, with good graphics. There's some guys out here wont even give them a second look. Unless you get them for free. I know there not worth a whole lot, But what do you think they are worth ball park figure with these kind of graphics ?

I'll buy composite cans, as long as they're Sinclair and I don't have them already.

There are a handful of really nice composite quarts out there that bring good money. Not Gilmore money, but upwards of $50 to $100.00. I collect them.

I save paper cans too, quarts and tube patch cans. There are a few Harley paper quarts I would pay $50-$100 for, full or empty. Also look for Hess paper quarts and others. Motor oil, tansmission fluid, tube patch cans with pictures/intersting graphics/small company/etc.
Somewhere buried around here I have a World war II era Macmillan paper quart.

Looking for photos, etc from 60s era Shell-A-Rama gas station and Pal's Diner, Rt. 17 Mahwah, NJ
& US or state highway signs, shields, route markers

I have some in my collection as well and have no issue with them and think it's just a matter of time before they come into their own. I believe it's like collecting 70's stainless or T-style pumps or plastic era signs, they just need time and collectors who are from that time period to truly push them into a more desirable level. Think of yourself as early trailblazers like the folks who started this hobby some years back! Some day the same question will be posed about todays plastic quarts.

I must add my name to those who have "composite" cans in their collections. I "plead poverty" (plus I'm real cheap), so I pick up what I can afford. As been stated here, I too like the graphics on some "paper" cans .
