My buys from Peotone that made it home are the cool but rough little Burgess thermometer and the Champlin sign. The Porcelain Mens and Ladies signs were waiting when I got home and might make the next show. And finally another fun trade for 2 really cool qts. The Bear-Ring and Penn-O-Lene.

Heres a globe that I've wanted for a long time but the opportunity was never there. Finally found one on Ebay about 3 weeks ago and made a deal with the owner to purchase it!
This one has recessed areas where the lettering is. Does this mean its a "cast lens"? I've always thought these were paint fired on a smooth piece of milkglass?

Awesome oil cans and globe!!!!!! I can't find any good signs or oil cans but I find a few good pumps every now and then. I bought this Erie pump yesterday. It has been inside of a barn for the last 52 years and on the same farm before that. This pump is perfect, no dents or rust.

I went to my hometown last wednesday because I remembered repairing a barn door for a lady years ago and she had a pump in her barn! So I went back to ask if she still had it???
Yep she still had it and she remembered me! So I offered her 350 and she sold it to me...:) Tokheim 300 I think?

Then I went over to my buddy's house to show it off when he offered to trade me pumps even steven! So I did!!!

Got a few things this past week;
A red lettered Diesel sign. This is the older of the two, the newer one has the word Diesel in bigger green letters

Couple of cans

A Pennant globe. I got two different lenses, did some trading and got a pair that matched, bought a glass body and put it on top of the -60.

Some pump pieces parts

Never seen one self framed w/mounting holes and keyhole tabs.
Also embossed. It sure is purty!

I'm finally able to post my Peotone buys. The globes were pre-bought from Scott and Lonnie. You really don't see these 60's versions as much as the earlier Mobilgas ones. The Upperlubes are out of an original case and are the nicest war bottle versions I've ever seen, dated 6-43. There were 2 different tops available, one metal, one bakelite, so of course I had to have one of each! I also found four different decals for my future lubster restoration.

Here are my recent local finds and Ebay buys. The two Swiss cans are from Ebay and were really nice once cleaned up. We all know 5 gallons are super hard to find in nice condition so I couldn't pass this PURE can up. The composite quart is also nice and one I haven't seen for sale too often. I like PURE stuff and might make it one of my "sub" brands to collect! There's not a lot of it out there....

Lastly I found the Shell station panel for $5 at an antique mall. I just thought it was kind of neat and hope to find a use for it someday. The Polarine box was in really good shape with bright colors, so I bought it for a go along item with my Red Crown thermometer. I thought I'd put my Standard oil bottles on it for a neat display.
Have a good one,
Darin

I've been very busy this past weekend!

Bought my first actually collection from a casual collector.

I grabbed the small stuff with me on Saturday as I was heading home from working in SoCal last week. Going back to Bakersfield to get the big stuff this Sunday.

Two Rapidaytons and two Tokheim 39s. Also, the coke ice chest and an A-frame Texaco oil can display (not pictured).

Also picked up this oil lubester pump from an estate auction.

...and these shop light bonnets from the same auction...

Thanks to my annual bonus. I'm hedging that I'll be able to make some money on the resale. I also have a lead on another smaller collection. It'll have to wait until this one's gone.

I also picked up this single American Legion lens. It was on CAPCO when I got it. I found a glass wide body that had the base Jarvised so I swapped it over. Put it up on display today at the Local Legion. Everyone that remembered the old pump globes liked it.

I've picked up a few smalls and had some items given to me by Oldgas members. You're all great, whether it is the advise or items; all good things given.

A great looking Humble bank from Veedol Alan, the headlights, tail lights and side lights all work.

A few non-petro items were sent to me by Brian, KYGULF. Some old keys and a whiskey jigger, a Mountain Dew bottle and a paper folding Pepsi 6-pack carrier.

Butch knows how to shop for signs. Great stuff!

At Peotone, I picked up a lexan Zephyr Gas sign that appears to never have been outside. Thanks, George! Also at Peotone, I picked up several small items. The salesman's sample DuPont 7 Auto Top Finish has this embossed on the lid, "Enough for your spare tire." And I always love to find auto paint cans with nice vintage car graphics like this Glidden Rubrlustre Auto Finish. Thanks, Lenny and Phyllis!

Also got my $5 outboard motor from a Shop Talk Non-Petro auction and a barn hanger stop sign with plastic reflectors. Thanks, Greg!
