I contacted Sinclair Oil Corporation to find out if they have a paint code for the green that they use. They told me it was a PANTONE color, so I contacted them and they sent me a chip (for 10 bucks) of the Sinclair green. So, if any of you are interested, the color they use is PANTONE 349 C. That code cross-references with PPG 43829 (which also happens to be the green used on 1968 mustangs). PPG 45132 is also very close to the PANTONE 349 C. It looks like the ERIE 71 is going to get some color squirted on it in the next week or two. Chris

Sinclair used different shades of green through the years. You need to use the green that was used in the era that you are restoring your pump to. They may have sent you the green they use today and not the shade you really need. Match your signs/decals to the paint for the pump as DB mentioned.

Ford Mustangs had atleast 4 different "greens" that I have found color codes for in 1968.
Plus, custom color/tints could be ordered from each dealership.

Interestingly, the PANTONE color system is usually used for specifying printing ink colors (not paint colors). A graphic designer will create a project (company logo, label, brochure, poster, whatever) and then spec. the various colors desired in terms of any of the many, many hundreds of standard PANTONE ink colors and the accompanying printing ink mixing formulas. That way, any printer will be able to create the exact color(s) the designer had in mind. Of course, I'm referring to straight color reproduction, not four-color process printing usually used when color photos are being reproduced.
It is neat that Sinclair would take the time to get you their current logo color specs. Best, John
