Can anyone tell me how to install the seals and glass in the door of a short Tok. 39?? I purchased two new windows, and two new seals. I now have one new window and two seals.... Apparently glass installation isn't one of my strong points! Any advice, instructions, pictures ( please keep the laughter to yourself ) would be greatly appreciated!

I am not the only one !! I have found that a good glass installer saves on all the disappointment of breaking the glass-- Tom

Yes both came as a kit. Purchased from G.P.H. Did you purchase the glass and rubber from the same vendor?

I tried glass cleaner and tried soapy water but the damn things don't even want to try to slide into place! I'm gun shy now. The one I broke I was not putting much pressure on and was quite surprised when it shattered!

I used a thin metal putty knife and a lot of skin on the tips of my fingers to work mine into place. It definitely takes some patience. Make sure you do it in a warm place too so the rubber is pliable. Might not be a bad idea to soak it in some warm (not boiling) water for a few minutes.

I did one a few weeks ago for a friend I had the rubber backwards and it wouldnt go in. your glass i think has to be smaller than the opening? with out looking at it im not sure. did you tape the rubber to the glass? You have to go slow and work it around the opening dont jump from side to side it will put to much pressure on the glass good luck

If you ordered a kit for the right short 39 you should have gotten RB102 (I think).Look at the rubber gasket;you should have a thick side that will fit the glass and a thin side that will fit the sheet metal.Cut the gasket to fit leaving about 1/8"to stretch into place.Start on one corner and work your way around with the sheet metal side in place and working the glass side with your fingers.
I've done lots of them like that without any problems except blisters!!

yes the glass is smaller than the opening and has a small lip for the sheet metal side. It stays on the glass just fine but doesn't seem to want to fit in the opening. I tried to install the gasket on the sheet metal then install the glass but the gasket absolutely will not stay on the sheet metal. You mentioned rope in your last post, Anyway you can shed some light on the method? Yes RB102 was the part# and it sounds like I've got the gasket installed correctly ( thick on glass, thin on metal ) Do you put the gasket on the glass then install the whole thing or on the sheet metal then work the glass in place? I tried the later but could not keep the gasket on the door metal. put the rubber on the glass tape it to the glass.get some small rope or some string stick the rope in the small side all the way around cross the two ends together then tape them in the middle of the glass.then tape the glass in the opening with the rope side to the door. from the back side take one side of the rope and pull it so your hand is sliding across the glass. it should pull the lip out and around as you go around the glass use some glass cleaner or soap to make it slippery if your worried about taping on the paint stick it to your pants first that will take some of the sticky stuff off of the tape.

I used a couple of popsicle sticks to work the glass inside the gasket, use alot of liquid glass cleaner. I put the rubber on the door and then worked the glass into the gasket starting on the corner. Take your time it will work, good luck.
