I was looking at one of my original Contains Lead signs, and I noticed the remains of a old sticker. I can't read it, and I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen one of these stickers and what does it say? -Mike

Lead signs on curb pumps, ha, must have still been quite a few curb pumps when the lead came out. The oldest lead signs should be about 24 or 26 whe Ethyl was introduced.
I have one curved lead sign I think done by reverse stencil, that is the letters are lower than the background, and the letters are blue..not black.!! ...dodogas

Dodogas, Ethyl was introduced in 1923. At first tetraethyl lead was added to gasoline with a mixer on the pump. I wonder if any of these mixers are still around? The feds put a stop to sales because of health issues in early '25. Sales started back up in '26 but the mixers weren't allowed anymore. Bob
