Most likely an oil "sucker" used to suck oil out of canisters housing removable element oil filters. There were numerous configurations made to fit various filter canisters. Dud

Thanks guys for yr tips. By mentioning the grease gun I did some research in an old garage equipment book. It turns out it is a Grease Gun voor a propellar shaft. Dates from the 30's
