Hi:

Do we buy these outright or do we need to send in the old ones for exchange?

NO PEANUTS!!!!!
Have you ever tried to dig peanuts out of a computer???
Place computer in a bag pack tight w/ paper in a good strong box....unit will get damaged if not packed properly.
I cannot be responsable for parts broken if computer is not packaged safely.
I just don't have the time to deal with incomming damage claims.
Damaged parts due to shipping will be replaced, and you will be billed for them. Parts charges will not exceed $30.00...normally.

All 12" crankback computers will interchange w/ each other
There are about 3-4 different common models, you will need to send in a core and I can send a comparable rebuilt computer back.

I rarely sell computers "outright" = no core

Some have indented wheels, some have flat wheels,
flat wheels have to have decals, take more time and I charge $175.00 NOW
for a computer that has flat wheels due to the extra time it takes to get the decals right and the cost of the decals.
I have also recently discovered a design flaw in the computers w/ flat wheels that has illuded me over the years, and to fix this problem the head has to be dismantled.

Indented wheel computers are $150.00
prices do not include shipping

Any computer under 12" is $200.00
Thanks
Joe
...........I do not restore sheet metal....remove upper and lower & keep it before shipping your core

Wow, a front totalizer 8 inch. What does that go to? I thought all 8 inch computers were side totalizers.

That computer above is a 1945 model #45 12" computer.

I had a buddy of mine look at the rough draft of my
ID book that I have already proof read.
We made some revisements in a paper booklet form and I have to
go back in a change a few things that were confusing....to him , not to me.
He doesen't know anything about computers or gas pumps so I thought he would be someone good to read it.
I will do that same test on someone else when I get the corrections made.
I hope to have it available soon.
It will cover Identification of every crankback computer I know of between 1932 and 1955.
Veeder Root apparently does not have this information.

This is a 1935 8" with price wheels....last model in an 8" size,
first model w/ price wheels.

big difference in the variator than the one above.

Way too cool Joe! An ID book is going to be great!
I didn't know there were ANY 8 inch VR's made with the front pricer wheels? I don't think I've ever seen one except for your picture! Like Matt said-- What models of pump would have used them? Thanks---KEVIN

HEY !!!!!
Now I have to make another revision.
That was a good question that I have not even thought of.
I will add those pumps to the list of what this particular model
fits......Thanks

Matt's question was about a front totalizer 8" computer....
Those don't exist.
All 8" computers were side totalizer units.

OK, I reread it and saw he was talking about the 12 inch front totalizer unit that you had pictured. When you posted that picture of the 8 inch with the front pricer wheels, it suprised me as I had no idea that there was such a thing! Just my lack of knowledge on gas pumps!
I was curious as to what pump applications they would have been used on? If I knew, I would be watching for them.---KEVIN
