i am new to old gas pumps..i am restoring a erie pump.. my question is the plastic cover on the nozzle.. are new ones avail. and where can i order them from..the nozzel i have is in great shape but the plastic cover is ripped

It sounds like your nozzle may be too new for your pump. The old nozzles did not have the plastic cover like the 60's 70's ect nozzles. What model is your pump?

its a model 158...i beleive it was made specificlly for gulf in the mid 50's

The older pumps did not use the plastic/rubber covers. These are a relatitively modern item.
You can remove it entirely or replace the nozzle with any brand/style that will fit. Nozzles wore out and were replaced constantly.
If you MUST have the cover - you should be able to get a replacement from any local station service company.
Just ask the Manager of your favorite station who services their pumps.
