Hey guys I have the base of the Mobiloil Gargoyle curb side lolipop sign. I now have the opportunity to by the top round sign witht eh frame around it. However I'd still be in need of the pole that connects from base to sign and the connector that attaches the sign frame to the pole. Is that something I could make from something available at a home depot or hardware store? Better yet what's the chances of finding the original pole? I just want to make sure I can get it together somehow before I purchase the sign. Thanks

you could use a metal umbrella base with a piece of black pipe or electrical conduit and paint all black.

finding the thread size is the easy part.....take what has the female threaded part to your local home depot or lowe's and try different male pipe nipples.....then you will know what dia. pipe you will need.
If you are going to use an umbrella stand....the part of the pipe that goes into the stand doesn't need a thread.

If you are going to use a piece of EMT conduit...then you can buy an EMT connector with the proper thread size for your piece.

I had and did what you need to do:
The Mobil base has a 2" thread (check your measurements)
The base of the sign is 1 3/4" thread
You need a 2" to 1 3/4" adapter for base
You need 28" of 1 3/4" pipe
When I did this Lowe's nor Home Depot, neither had the right size pipe, I ended up getting it at a plumbing store.
When you go, take the base and sign with you.

There is no such thing as 1 3/4" pipe. The pipe thread should be 1 1/4" or 1 1/2", could be 2" but I have never seen that large a pipe on a lollipop sign. You cannot go by actual measurement for pipe thread.
