What happened to the Skelly Oil Company (which in the early 1980s, here in Minn., was changed to Getty)? I remember TV commercials from 1984: "Take your cap off to Getty". No Skelly or Getty stations left in Minn. What happened? Are they anywhere?

In 1983 Getty started to replace the Skelly brand, but was bought out by Texaco before all stations were rebranded. Texaco sold the Getty stations in the northeast and they continued to use the Getty brand.
