Hello, I'm new here, and the first thing I want to say is this is a really nice website and resource. What a neat place - keep up the good work!

My reason for visiting here is that I'm writing a story about technological changes going on in a farming community, and the small towns around it, and one thing I want to make a literary illustration of what a modern(circa 1942) Texaco station of the time would be like. This is to be a gas station only, not a general store, so I only want a description(pictures emailed to my adrress would be wonderful!) of what a Texaco filling station would look like, both inside and out.

Thank you very much in advance,
Dsl

Hi Dslfumes,

There are several Texaco gas station books in print. I recommend Texaco Collector's Guide by Scott Benjamin, Wayne Henderson, since it has good Texaco station pictures.

You may be able to find it or one of the other Texaco books in a well stocked public library.
