I dvr since I am at work. I thought it was ok, it is tv folks. I think the more people watch, the more they will respect what we all do with this stuff we preserve for the next generation. After all, it is tv just like anything else, it is meant to entertain. I will be watching again.

Thanks, Phil

Kind of missed the mark for me. More of this we have a off guy doing stuff kind of thing. Pretty soon we will be seing ( it has to be done before he gets here thing). Maybe even, that's too much money and can I make payments actually on the air. Again making more people feel like things are worth more than they really are. Sure would be nice though to have outside storage yard that doesn't get all the rain.

I like your reply Don, and Im much the same way with my thoughts. Rehearse the customer and the item, put all the drama in the piece being a "hunker" and how impossible finding parts for it is, but the final product shows what can be done with research , elbow grease and not drinking beer all day. (well maybe part of the day)I feel we all have some abillity to take on old beaters and put something out better then what it was. I will watch his show and block out the hipe and wait for the finished piece. What a great way to make a living, and having a sponser like the History channel!

I thought it was ok. Like many said, I would like to see more of the actual work done and explained, but maybe that would bore most people. I can do without the making of "personalities" in these type of shows. "Old Man", "Chumley" and now "Kowboy".
I also thought they were rough/stupid towing that golf cart, but I imagine that was done for "exciting" TV.
The prices on the finished product? Gimme a break! Laughable. I guess you need to tell a guy his fridge is worth 3k when you just charged him lots of $$ to restore it. That part of these shows does not help the hobby at all.
I will watch again and hope it gets better.
John

Don't forget that the participants either got paid for their appearance or maybe even got their resto done for free.

Just like the country song;
"They're Gonna put me in the movies & make a big star out of me.........."

Part of another song that comes to mind; "they paid like Crazy"

...sounds to me like they could have done the show correctly, and entertained everyone on Oldgas...there's so much 'well it's only a tv show, fakery is to be expected' on this site - when your expectations are that low you can't help but be impressed...why bother watching?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

it was this comment from (www.vics66.com)
--If you think he is making any money from the TV network for doing the show you are dead WRONG! The only benefit he is gaining is advertising his business and chasing the American Dream of doing what he likes to do instead of working for the man at a job most dread going to 5 days a week. Keep up the good work Rick I for one will be watching next week!!--
like i said.

I really don't think this show was created for all the cry baby experts. It is for entertainment. I enjoyed it. I hope the history channel fills his pockets, and I don't even know the guy.

"Cry baby experts"?

I have been enjoying the discussions and differing points of view, even made a couple of comments.

Never considered myself as an expert, especially not a "Cry baby expert".

But then again, I've only been collecting since 1965. Now it's true I went along with my dad who was collecting, once I was old enough to walk but didn't keep anything I picked up from 1955 through '65.

I was an expert at crying during a good portion of the mid to late 50s, though. Especially during my terrible two's I am told.

The show sucks. One more example of the dumbing down of America.
