I really want to motorize it so that is why I am trying to get it to work. I have it soaking right now in simple green and water. I will check on it in the morning and see if it is working then.

Keep on the mend Joe! Its been a year since my back surgery and I'm finally starting to feel completely healed. Back problems are tough!
Be sure to post the 8 inch computer when you're done! I'd like to see what a super restoration looks like!

If you plan to motorize that,it looks pretty rough to me.HIOCTANE has a couple of four reel VRs in my shop. One of them might work.Want me to look at them?

Sure if you don't mind that would be great.

One of them does look kind of like yours from what I can see. What pump are you working with?I think that VR is an 02.I've never worked with anything that new. What are some of those casting numbers on yours? That's the only way I know of to tell if this one will work for you.

The pump is a Wayne 734. Where do I find the casting numbers? There are some numbers that look like part numbers or something like that on the half with the reels is that what you need? This is my first gas pump so I don't really know that much about the pump.

I might be able to hook you up with a factory rebuilt. I've got several 4 wheel meters still in the VR boxes. I'll check and see if any are like yours and post back.

Just curious but does the one I have right now have any value at all? If I get a new one I might concider selling my current one or maybe see if a local gas pump repair place wants it for parts.

Does anyone know what I could do with the one I have right now? Can I sell it or would nobody want it? It does look a lot better now that I cleaned it up and I did get the linkages on the side to start moving around but I don't really want to mess with it anymore.

I found a computer and am working out the shipping right now. Hopefully it will fit. Also I am really concidering taking at least the bottom part appart of the old one and working on it. I really can't see it getting any worse and it does sound like fun and I really think I can figure it out.

The computer you need will have to have the "garbage Can" looking dash pot & large spring on the side.
the others pictured are NOT the ones you need.
If yours goes to 1.99 9/10 it is a 2002
if it goes to 2.99 9/10 it is a 2002-E
Either way it is a semi-automatic computer requiring 2 reset levers,,, one is for on/off and reloading the spring
One is for releasing the spring for reset.
