...the photo shown above and the photo used to create the engraving on the advertisement were very possibly taken at the same time of the same station...the quality of the photograph leads me to believe it was taken to be used for advertising purposes by the company...

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Are you against reproduction globes? (just to have something until you find the real thing)

Maybe I should change the title of this post to "I'm looking for this ORIGINAL globe". Reproduction globes that are marked certainly have their place in our hobby, but in this particular case, I am looking for an original globe.

FAKE, verb, noun, or adjective - depending on use
–verb (used with object)
1. prepare or make (something specious, deceptive, or fraudulent): to fake a report showing nonexistent profits.

REPRODUCTION, –noun
1. the act or process of reproducing.
2. the state of being reproduced.
3. something made by reproducing an original; copy; duplicate: a photographic reproduction; a reproduction of a Roman vase.

I don't make 'fakes' - I make 'reproductions'. No 'deception' involved in anything I do - everything is dated.

I believe Dennis posted looking for an original globe. If he wanted a fake i am sure he would have asked T-way. I am not betting man but i would bet Dennis will never have or want a reproduction made.

Looking for anything from Hoosier Pete, Platolene 500 and Red Bird.

I don't think we need to get into another reproduction vs Original battle. Everyone on oldgas knows where everyone stands on that topic.

Let Dennis have his thread back looking for his original globe.

I agree Jarvis. There's been enough discussion on that particular topic! LOL

I hope somebody finds one of these original globes or at least a nice single lens. It's a great looking image.

I don't own this map, but something to look for if you don't already have it:
