Did they make them without a date or made in U.S.A. on them?

I don't believe that size is repopped, the 12 x 18 are

It's real .The small size were for the sides of pumps. And that is Canadian version that were not dated or say made in USA. Look where the seller is from Ontario.

This is the 8x12 I have: corners are not as rounded Texaco was pretty good at dating their items made in USA...3-42 I would buy something in a little better shape that I was sure of

I've never seen a pump plate used on the side of any pump, even if it was the only one on island.

I know they made the older Sky-Chief 12x18 and 8x12 not aware of the other size for this version.

This is a quote from Texaco Collectors Guide by Wayne Henderson and Scott Benjamin
The smaller size versions 8x12 were used on narrow doors, and on the sides of pumps in states where display of a state or local license was required on the front doors of regular service station pumps.
May not in California DB but other states. lol.

I have the smaller version "Fire Chief" sign. Mine has the rounded corners, and is not dated, just like the one on ebay. It looks right to me. Like DB, I'd never heard of mounting the product signs on the side of pumps. I could not find any reference to the smaller signs in "Gas Pump Restoration" book. Maybe they were only used by "Munchkins in Lollypop Land"? lol Don

I did not quote" Gas Pump Restoration" book I read it in " Texaco Collectors Guide" And I did go look at a friend 8x12 Fire-Chief pump plate today, and his is Canadian and dated so maybe they made them both ways.

Final price was $189.49, too much for me without the date and made in USA. All of the Texaco I have seen in Canada has the date in the corner. Does anyone have pictures of plates in their collection without the Date?
