TEXACO sign is in a Shepherds Hook pole mounted to building, instead of ground.
LOWright is Really GOOD, he pulled the color out of a B&W photo!

Good eyes Dave.
Now that you mention it I see the distant pump on the left.
I sent a larger image to db, with his new monitor hopefully he can get a better look.

The more I look at the photo, the more things change. LOL
On the right, the last pump (atleast to me) looks as if it might be at another station/store?

I was up to 400% image zoom and just can't make it all out. DB's right about the Texaco sign hanger. That's a sweet outfit. I'm guessing the station on the right in the back is the Shell. I almost thought those were Crown globes till I looked at the lonely one to the left of the 2. It looks more like a Shell.

DB, I went back and recounted. I come up with 5 at Tydol station. 3 at Sanders store. 2 at Texaco on the left and 1 clearly beyond in the background. I do believe I miscounted and 11 is correct although I feel like there is at least one more to the left that isn't clear enough to count. Is this the way you count them.

I resized image to 1600dpi & can only see 11. *Left side & in front of 2nd set of pumps in a kid sitting on island curb looking @ camera. *Right side by rear of last car is a little black kid. *Because there is no Flag on pole, I think Bob is correct about Courthouse & Advertoligst is correct about it being Sunday. *Large rock in front of flag pole probably has a Bronze Plate w/ names of WW1 volunteers &/or dead from that community. *Hard to say if last [building] structure on right is a Canopy over a station or porch on 2 story building. *Left visible in TYDOL is a Tall Door G&B T-176, right one is a Short Door T-176. *Inside garage on left is a Cable Lift for cars. GUESSING by looks of cars, photo is Mid to Late 30's

How about trying to date the photo. Date the oldest pump, when the globes were introduced, then date the cars or trucks. No contest, I can only go by the pumps.

Only good globe images appear in the TYDOL station. Closest pump on island is a TYDOL ETHYL, rest look like common ones. To date the photo, you need to date the Newest pump or vehicle.
