SPEED OIL COMPANY, ATLANTA, GA:
YOUR 1ST SIGN, THE ROUND ONE WAS USED 1946-1957 ALSO IN OVAL SAYING "SUPER SPEED."
YOUR 2ND SIGN, THE BADGE/SHIELD SHAPE WAS USED 1957-1962.
THE CITIZENS 77 SIGNS WERE OF THE CITIZENS OIL COMPANY, TALLAHASSEE, FL.
THESE TWO COMPANIES WERE DISCOUNTERS AND MERGED IN 1950.
BOTH COMPANIES WERE RUN BY TENNECO.

Interesting, I have a "Speed" sign that I just posted in the f/s section. Thanks for posting the history of the company, it explains why my sign turned up where it did. That shield sign looks just like mine, except mine appears to be a bit larger. How big does your sign measure? Mine does have a few dings, though but no bullet holes luckily.
