Can anyone help me I have given up on eBays picture hosting after using their picture pack and finding it defaults to it endlessly or an major nightmare to cancil. The eBay page is like this ______________________________________________________ SELF HOSTING Your first self-hosted picture is copied to the eBay server to display on your item page. If we can't copy it, we display the original Enter the URL (Web address) of picture to link to on a Web server http://...................___________________________________________________________ Why eBay starts with the http:// is beyond my little brain but it also seems ImageShack is giving me to much of a location code: <a href="http://img684.imageshack.us/i/ddtcopy.jpg/" target="_blank"><img src="http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/4565/ddtcopy.th.jpg" border="0"/></a>

Pretty sure your best bet is to contact ebay.

What eBay is asking for in this case is just the Web address of the image. On ImageShack, that is the code line that says, "Direct Link to Image" It will start with "http://" and end usually with ".jpg" Like this: http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/4565/ddtcopy.jpgTry the above link or one that starts and ends like it. Your example code link that starts with "<a href=" includes html code that is not wanted by eBay in that application. That is the code line for "Hotlink to Web Sites" More than eBay wants, so it won't work.

Thank you for your assistance. The link you furnished works BUT I am so ticked off at eBay's BS it puts sellers through it just makes me scream. There is no place I can find as you state a:
"Direct Link to Image" Under ImageShacks: Get code for forums Get code for websites Get code for email
It looks like you got the link by cutting one apart, that is so frustrating because I can't repeat it. My next question, after this can't get right code, will be how do I load multiple images in ebays god awful picture package? I tried putting multiples of the one that worked in and NOTHING. Again Thanks for your patience and help.

The Direct Link is there on the ImageShack page that comes up after an upload. Here is a screen snapshot of that page with arrows pointing to the proper code lines for your eBay use and for Oldgas.com Shop Talk.

Jim sincerely appreciate your efforts, glad to tell you the Direct Link works fine. Though the eBay usless system only lets me post one picture. I guess I'll experiment with pre-writting a bunch of variations and see if anything works. The proceedure of having to upload at ImageShack to be able to obtain a Direct Link is mind-blowing shear stupidity to me. It looks now like every time I want to obtain a Direct Link I must upload a picture and over and over....Un-believable!

FINALLY I found through ePay I must:
To show more than one self-hosted picture on eBay, you need to use HTML in your listing.
How the heck I do that will likely take me days to find out.

on the description box on ebay there are 2 boxes on top "standard" and "HTML" just click on the HTML box and paste your links and you can put in how many pics as you want.

Can't activate the HTML for pictures only the Discription part of eBay listing. Of corse the f^^%^ a^&%$^^s at eBay make it so you can no longer use a cut and paste in the discription area as I already figured that might turn it to html and then I could paste it in the picture adder. I tell you eBay SUCKS just seems to make it harder and more costly to do business there.

Any differences between PhotoBucket or ImageShack won't make any difference for solving your difficulty with posting self-hosted images on eBay. Have you looked at Auctiva for image hosting and description posting? http://www.auctiva.com/default.aspxUsing eBay's image hosting service is like going to a restaurant and letting them do the cooking, but they do charge for the services provided. Posting multiple pictures using html on eBay is like buying groceries and cooking at home. Cheaper, but you have to learn how to cook. Here are some basics on learning how to "cook" html: http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_primary.asp
