This Photo came from Kennecott Copper Mine. The photo is of downtown Magna Utah in the 20's. This is a feature photo dedicated to the new Magna museum.

I thought you guys might enjoy the picture.

Anyone have any idea what kind of pumps those 2 were? I love that big PEP 88 pole sign! Did you notice the fluted pole? Neat!

I can't think of a better place for that Ford/Pep 88/Vico Motor oil sign than in my collection.

Judging by what appears to be a glass body Pep 88 globe that picture would date 1930's or 40's.
That style globe was used with a metal body in the 20's. There's supposedly only one known of the metal body version.
The globes used in the 20's were more likely "Pep The Gas With a Punch".

Pogogas is correct, it is a Fry. Officially in 1928 the name of the company (Guarantee Liquid Measure Co.) was changed to Fry Equipment (in honor of their long time president (H.C.Fry). For those of you who don't know who Fry was, he was an early investor in GLM, why, because he had a glass factory in the same town, and he would supply the cylinders used in every pump they made.
Many books have been written about Fry, not because of his association with a gas pump company, but because his company made some of the most collectible, today, glassware, ceramatics and whatever.
Ask a glassware collector friend who Fry was.

BTW, I have little information (besides what is on page 176 of my Gas Pump Identification book. I have never found the model number nor how long it was made. It appears that this was the last pumps sold by the GLM co. or Fry.

Wrought Iron brackets are a nice touch on the fluted sign pole! Cool sign top to bottom.

This sign has hit a nerve with me. Does anyone out there have this sign in their collection? Or has anyone even seen it? I'm a mite prejiduce to Ford and with a gas co. and oil all one sign, the size of it and it looks like neon to me, the best damn sign EVER!. I'd even trade my 31 Chevy engine for that.

Sweet! Ford and Pep 88 make a great combo. Can anyone make out what the globe on the left is?
