what is the correct angle to mount subject item, say from the bottom of the lowest front hoof to the bottom of the lowest rear hoof?

I ALWAYS REMEMBERED IT BEING WITH THE TOP OF THE WING BEING SLIGHTLY ANGLED UPWARD AND NOT STRAIGHT ACROSS HORIZONTALLY.

GOOGLE IMAGES FOR MOBILGAS PEGASUS AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT ANGLE IS CORRECT ON THE SHIELD SIGN FOR EXAMPLE.

I agree with both of the above comments....each should result in the correct angle. If a diecut sign has mounting brackets on the back, the top two brackets are usually placed so if you mount them horizontal/level, the angle will be correct.

This was asked a couple of months ago and my response then was that the tip of the wing actually is a bit lower than the "fore head". The easiest way to check is to look at a shield sign where you have the top horisontal line to compare with. Pls look at the attached picture of an original pump plate. I see no reason it would have been mounted in a different angle on, lets say a roof line of a station.

on my cookie cutter sign,it looks like the brackets that are mounted on the body of the sign would be level and that would give the correct angle of the horse.sorry cant take a pic right now.
