thought i would toss this up for any ideas. not too many people know much about these as they weren't available to the public, only a limited run were produced for sale only to texaco corporate employees (or at least thats what i was told by the corp. employee who acquired these for me in 97).i was offered $500 for one about 10 yrs ago by a pump/parts vendor who has since passed away. i know the market has fluctuated a bunch in the past few years & am curious what these might be worth today. these are unopened, & in the original packaging. thanks in advance for any help you might provide!

Not sure a value, but there is one on Ebay right now for a BIN of $225.00 Auction # 120692563976

So perhaps the price has come down or with the advent of Ebay, they are found more often?

These were available to the public. I used to buy direct from ERTL and other Texaco licensees and I think these were about $90 wholesale and retailed for $125. They were not very popular and show up on ebay quite frequently. I don't know who has the one on ebay at $250, but I would shop around.

Thats what I was thinking, the design of the packaging sure looks like it was sold in retail. I wouldnt think they would be worth much... $50-100?

That range is workable. But, if someone paid 125 or more it will depend on hoe desperate they are.

Anything that says "Collectible" or Limited Edition" are not worth collecting

thats just "big business" marketing... sell one at 95 yrs, then another at the 100 yr mark!

thanks for all the replies! reason i was asking is the guy who is selling me all the equipment i'm having to replace in my shop after the fire expressed interest in "doing some swapping" on one. i had been looking occasionally on ebay, but never seemed to run across one to see what they were going for. i just didn't want to take advantage of him since he's helping me out on pricing, but at the same time didn't want to give it away either if the prices were up.
