Correct, I can see who is bidding because I own the sign and its my listing.

Secondly, Rich Amistadi retracted hid bid because the two of us got into a ***** match about his last ebay listing last week. I told him he had shill bidding on his auctions. Obviously that wasn't taken very well. Although I still believe in it. His excuse for retracting his bid was because my auction had shilling. I'm posting here to assure any serious buyer that it does not and the only reason I choose to keep it private was to keep the auction honest and protect bidders privacy. Its a small world and its easy to find out whos bidding on what and for how much. As a matter of fact, I'm so frustrated with the entire deal that I'm thinking about ending the listing and just keeping the sign. If this happens, no calls will be necessary because I will not sell the sign to any one for any price PERIOD! Just thought I would take the time to vent here during my lunch. Sorry guys..........

That certainly wouldn't present much of a problem for me. That sign is way out of my price range. It is cool, however.

Just a heads up. The auction ends tonight. Don't miss the opportunity to add this to your basket :-) It is better than searching for colored eggs.

Thanks for all the emails as I appreciate the feedback. You know who you are.

HAPPY EASTER to ALL !!!

So I guess this is worse than having the high bid at the end of the auction and then immediately asking to cancel the auction. Similiar to what you did to me on the Standard Oil sign after having the high bid for 4 days.

I need a recommendation from you guys before I put this back on eBay and hear the unnecessary comments (which I suspect will happen). It's life......

The winning bidder of the sign is now more interested in some other pricier items I have, and therefore has asked me if I can cancel the Richlube sign transaction. Some pockets are only so "deep". The money being spent on the other items justifies what I need to do, no question about it. If I relist on eBay everyone is going to think ***** (what the *uck). I don't need that reputation, so what do you think is in my best interest? Have Dan Matthews sell it at Iowa Gas or Ohio, or put in back on eBay with a Buy It Now or give Craigslist an opportunity. The market value has already been determined and I'm not going to give it away, so what do you think I should do??

Additionally, I contacted the second highest bidder who was still seriously interested until they blew the bankroll budget at a couple weekend auctions as I was told.

I'm an honest guy, and if me posting this turns ugly, I will know that I joined the wrong Gas & Petrolium forum. Please try and focus your answers to my questions with respect, as I would do the same for you. Thanks in advance for your help. I truely appreciate and value each and everyones opinion.

God Bless America!

If it was mine... state that the sign sold for 7k lastime. Buyer cant pay. So I am listing it again, no reserve starting at 3500. That seems an honest approach and most should see nothing wrong with it.

There is one in both the CTO and Iowa gas auctions. Tell the story and put it on ebay is my suggestion.

Thank you advertologist, always lookin, and bustermonty for the comments :-)

By the way, the Richlube sign condition @CTO and Iowa does not even come close to this one, and the selling price should reveal that.

I don't know how big of hurry you are to sell that sign but you might want to wait a few months before relisting.

Thanks for all the advice. The sign will be listed again starting tonight on eBay with a $.99 starting bid and NO RESERVE!

I took some words from "always lookin" and hopefully the serious bidders will step up, understand, and appreciate my honesty.

In my opinion, this Richlube sign is the best condition rated of its kind out there.

GOOD LUCK......and again THANKS to everyone for the words of encouragement.

By the way, I also decided to take away the Private Bidders Identity so those of you who know the feedback ratings of your friends can see them bidding against you. This might not be a good thing, Oopps......

Ebay isn't like an auction anymore. Everyone waits until the last 8 seconds or less before they bid. If this was a live auction the hammer would fall before your paddle went up. Only exception is if your paddle never comes down, then my sign on ebay would easily be above 6k.

I WISH ALL THE OLD GASSERS A HAPPY & SAFE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! ENJOY....

That must be why I'm getting all the emails with offers to end the auction. And then all the interested buyers/watchers wonder why the item was pulled and no longer for sale. It is because there are too many people laying in the weeds waiting until the last minute. That's a double edged sword if you ask me.
