None of you who collect Veedol have an Imperial Qt small diamond star-burst can, tucked away that you would sell? Maybe some of the membership, don't know what it is I'm looking for? Here is a photo of a 1 qt small diamond can , a 1 Imperial qt large diamond can and a 1 qt large diamond can. I need a Imperial small diamond can to complete my small diamond display.

So Large & Small pertains to whether the diamond extends beyond the label frame (large) or not (small)?

Yes, plus the large diamond has fewer star-burst rays than the small diamond.

Dick, I would be able to afford to send the can in for re-lidding if AL would quit hogging all the older cans. If he would just quit collecting for a couple of months, then maybe I wouldn't have to pay more and more to play.... You would think he would cut me some slack........

Bob I still have my list I took to Dixie and still looking. You know if it don't say pennant or firestone in bold letters I'm lost in the can department. So when you say Imperial, all blues with diamond are Imperials ? Is this prem. blend of Veedol?. Made for different region, Whats the difference from the winged cans ?.

Loyd, the middle can is an Imperial Qt.(from our neighbor's to the north) It is a bit larger than a "US qt".
The diamond cans are older than the Flying V cans, which are older than the Flying A cans, which are older than the Getty Veedol cans.... whew......

I am, as sure as one can be.(?) Tide Water and Associated used the Flying A for gasoline and other products. The Flying A replaced the Flying V on the Veedol cans in the mid 50s, through the mid 60s. (plus I use magazine ads, to double check.. LOL) EXCEPT in Canada and overseas. Where Getty used both the Flying V and non-flying V.
The earliest ad I've found for the Flying V is 1940, before that the word Veedol with no logo was used from the teens through the early 30s. Mid 30s the diamond star-burst logo was used. As I said mid 50s the Flying A was used on the Veedol cans.
Atleast that is what I have found using magazine and newspaper ads and posters. If anyone has different info please share it, so we can all become more knowledgeable on the Tide Water, Associated, Tidewater-Associated, Getty Oil Company's.
