This weekend, I stripped the paint off of the front panel of my Tok 39. As long as it took me, this panel might sit for a while before I get the other 3 sides, top and base done. So, is there anything I should do to treat or coat the bare metal to keep it from rusting?

Thanks

If you could find a auto paint place that carries Klean Strip Aircraft Paint stripper in the light blue can ,it makes taking multi layers of paint off pumps much easier and faster. It cost about 40 bucks a gallon.(sandblasting is faster if you do it or know someone who can ) Hope this helps.

mineral oil or wd40 will prevent surface rust. you will have to remove this with paint thinner before priming. store in location thats not humid and don't have changing temps. If panels are good shape no body work needed, prime them problem solved.

I just droped an entire pump off in pieces at the strippers to be media blasted. They only charged $70 for the entire pump.
Thant might be eaiser and more cost effective when you do the rest of the pump.

I would talk to the person you are going to have paint it, and ask what they would prefer.
