what is the secret to getting these stupid things off? ive soaked them in pb plaster, used a torch, nothing works. is there a tool for them? i looked for a spanner at lowes but they didnt have one. is that the right tool?

and another question about this pump... the globe holder ring on this pump is smaller than the one on my gilbarco 86. would the bigger(gilbarco 86) one be for a 15" globe and the erie one be for other ones? i really want to put a standard crown on my erie 90 and a shell clamshell globe on my erie 80. would they fit?

Globe rings are either 6" or 7", Standard Oil used a lot of G & B pumps & ordered them w/ 7" for use of Crown globes. I've had 15" & 16 1/2" metal bodies w/ 6" & 7" bases.

My class and I had a tough time getting the sight glass retaining rings off our pump too. If you look on a thread I started called Erie 71, on the 4th page there is a picture of the tool that we made to get the rings off. It worked perfectly and did not cause any damage to anything.
