School is back in session and we are started on the ERIE 71 again! I want to thank everyone that has helped out with this project both financially and with your knowledge of the subject.

So, with that -- I was looking at the two "Contains Lead" porcelain signs we have and I noticed some differences in them. I think the one on the left is an original and the one on the right is a reproduction. They are both porcelain, but the lettering is not near as crisp on the one on the right. The lettering is very jagged (see the "R" and the parenthesis around Tetraethyl). It is also missing the black around the screw holes that the one on the left has.

Am I right about it being a reproduction? If so, would someone have a nice original that they would be willing to part with? Everything else on this pump is original (still looking for a glass top!!!) and I want to make sure that it gets done right.

Thanks again for your help.
Chris

I can't tell by the pictures if either one is repo or original, but I have seen the lead signs with and without the black around the mounting holes and the outside edge. I have also seen them with different fonts and thickness of the lettering. The ones without the black around holes and edge seem to be older according to the ones I have found. Many times they are on the older pumps and the porcelain is heavier.
