Can someone suggest a good way of sealing the inside of a globe intended for outside use? I will be using the metal band with the glass lens and want to keep the water out of the light socket. Thank you.

You shouldn't need to seal it as long as you have the gap between the ends of the snap rings at the bottom of the globe. Any water that gets behind the lens will run out there. Globe holders have holes to let the water out.

I have globes outside on top of pumps, and have never had a problem with water getting into the light sockets. I have not used anything to seal the lenses to the bodies.
