I was excited to see that in this photo of the wagon I have in my collection one of the lamps made by Charles Pratt N.Y. who specialized in whale oil and kerosene lamps. According to wikipedia Mr Pratt founded Astral Oil Works that later sold out to John Rockefeller's Standard Oil CO in 1874. Photo is on page 25 posted by GILMORE.  Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I know where that exact building is with the cars covered in sand and dirt in front of the garage. It is on route 66 here in Oklahoma.

On the Pure/US Tires pic in Ames, IA. I was up that way traveling through this weekend. If I would have seen that picture I would have checked out the intersection to see if it was still there, although looking at Google Maps leaves to to believe that it's just as well that I didn't. I believe this to be the corner of Duff and Lincoln Way, and if so, although there's an Amoco and a BP station at that intersection, this particular building is gone. The Amoco is of their 60's/70's archetecture, so I guess that's one plus.

The last Standard picture was in Leadville Colorado. I bought out the bulk plant there and have those pumps and the signs from that station. COOL for me to see it.
