I thought the first two letters/numbers were single and the year was two digit. That's how all of the painted metal signs I have seen are marked. Jamie

This one would be a bad investment! I had an original a few years ago. The Ebay one is an obvious reproduction. Evasive listing aimed at the uneducated.

It is "fresh from a local estate" so it must be real LOL Grandpa must have carpel tunnel from making all these signs ( the ones found in his barn)

First photo is the one on ebay,,, the second photo is a sign Dan Matthews sold in an auction some time ago for $5000. Notice the Texaco logo and gromett holes location

I think the phrase is..."parted." Departed means died...LOL. But, the sentiment is the same.....

Positive bad! sure good for repoducers. Wonder how many more is sch. to be produced this week. Been watching this one tire related sign,they keep saying one of 100. two sellers have been selling one a week for the last year. They should be out of signs by now.

Seller listed some more Repros fresh from a local estate. I am sure all these signs will bring top dollar. This seller always seems to get top dollar for every item even in poor condition....something does not seem right here.

I have talked with this guy on the phone in the past on the T-53's and he isn't going to budge on selling these fakes! He has changed his language some but he sure isn't telling the whole truth! I believe its the dollars to this man and he could give a rip about other people!
If you try to email him directly thru Ebay, a little notice comes up that says he does not accept personal emails on ebay items!
TELLS YOU A LOT DOESNT IT!
I wish everyone that cares a little would notify ebay about his auctions and maybe somehow, just maybe, it will register with them!
