I am no expert but I came to the conclusion that it is a reproduction. To me the colors seem off (but it could just be the lighting/camera) and I would have to guess that there would be more mounting holes then there is (one in each courner). But I have to tell you the markings on the bottom right and left(date) have me wondering if I am wrong. LOL LOL Which I why I do not have a lot of prestine signs in my collection. John

Repro. Font is wrong for durable protection and reasonable cost....color seems off....with all these repro signs with sign maker markings one must look at a picture of a know original to see the difference because sometimes there are small variations. I do not think the original has a white back either.

so, I guess we are back to the original question? LOL He does not say in his description that it is old, etc. Hard to report it when he makes no claim to an authentic sign. What about the other items listed by this seller?

Lots of complaints about communcation or the lack of it. Means seller got buyer and don't care to talk about it! The starting price and no reserve done it for me.

If you notice his other items are all listed as original or he states a date it may have been made. Not on this one or the delco sign he has with the same description and same white back.Reproduction.

for a 75 year old sign, it sure has aged well- looks like it was made yesterday.. IMO.. (repo) Because it probably was..lol Did Allen Morrison (AM) even mark their signs like that in the 30's for Texaco? I have never seen one with the white so vibrant. Jamie

I thought the first two letters/numbers were single and the year was two digit.

I thought the first two letters/numbers were single and the year was two digit. That's how all of the painted metal signs I have seen are marked. Jamie

This one would be a bad investment! I had an original a few years ago. The Ebay one is an obvious reproduction. Evasive listing aimed at the uneducated.

Seller listed some more Repros fresh from a local estate. I am sure all these signs will bring top dollar. This seller always seems to get top dollar for every item even in poor condition....something does not seem right here.

I have talked with this guy on the phone in the past on the T-53's and he isn't going to budge on selling these fakes! He has changed his language some but he sure isn't telling the whole truth! I believe its the dollars to this man and he could give a rip about other people! If you try to email him directly thru Ebay, a little notice comes up that says he does not accept personal emails on ebay items! TELLS YOU A LOT DOESNT IT! I wish everyone that cares a little would notify ebay about his auctions and maybe somehow, just maybe, it will register with them!

Seller NEEDS some HIGH BIDS by NON PAYING BIDDERS, so they can leave feedback of the REPO'D signs he sells!
