Same thing that happened to Travis-towle happened to me, Fedex left a $300 package on my buyers porch and 3-4 days later he found it.

I've had several signs in the $1000 range left leaning against the front of my house or on my back deck that were supposed to be signed for by UPS and Fedex. The only one they took back was when I was home and waiting for the sign. The driver claimed he couldn't find anybody. My house was wide open because we were remodeling. I saw the truck go down the street, so I called UPS. They wanted me to go find him. I said no I paid to have it delivered and I was home. He brought it back to me and was madder than Hell!!

Here is my two cents, I have worked in a warehouse for eighteen years and of those years I have found the best service is Fed Ex. Use their express saver service about the same cost as UPS ground but you get it within a day or so and the boxes look like new when they arrive.Fed Ex will tell you 3-5 days service but almost every time it's on the opposite coast the next dya or the day after. Fed Ex has never lost a single package I have shipped.

I just got a box from the USPS and had a broke glass in it, just sent one USPS and a gift in it arived broke. Back in the day, I had an FFL, I ordered three hand guns, came home one day and the box of guns were sitting out in front of the house. Not damaged but they could have very easily been taken. If used in a crime, they would have been traced back to me. Thanks UPS

I believe that with FedEx if you insure it for over $300 or $500 (call and ask which it is), they automatically require a signature. This way no packages left at the door. Jack Sim
