Just in case the new menbers don't know this, but CTO started back in the early 1980s. Bob Love was the editor. He published basically a mininogrphed newsletter. He also started a mag called Tiger Rag. Then this was spilit off, Jerry Kieser continuted the CTO (he sitll publishes it, actually his wife Kathlen publishes it today, they are the ones who put on the show held in Columbus, OH every June, and this is the mag that I write almost monthly articles for, and I should add Lenny Hopp writes monthly articles on globes for). When it was split off, Tim Dye brought out a mag called Tiger Highest. This was a very good mag, lots of color and very informative, but it stopped publication, probably beause he didn't have enough subscribers. Then Scott Benjamin and Wayne Henderson came out with a monthly mag called PCM.
Today you have a choice of subscribing to CTO or PCM. I will not get into the differences between these two publications, my feeling are, subscribe to both.
As for collectors of old Petroliana (and I believe Jerry Kieser of CTO has been credited with inventing this name)I have a collection of just about every CTO, Tiger Highest and very early PCMs every published.
I am in the processes of putting just about everything I own on Ebay, and will eventually get to these mags, but if you are a serious buyer, and want to buy everything, send me an email and I will quote you a price. Almost all of my liteatue is stored in plastic sleves and in loose leafs books, and all are in almost perfect condition. I also have a stack of duplicates if you are looking for an issue to fill a hole in your collection.
