Does anyone know or have a picture of this sign the way it is supposed to be? Thinking it was a neon clock on each side sign, but doesn't look like it when looking closer. Also the neon holes look larger that I am use to seeing and wondering if there was a housing for this or they just passed through.

could have been a painted glass or milk glass insert? Doubt a clock would have been done that way - but it's possible?

Large holes could have been for tube pass through and neon tube connection made with spring connectors attached via solid copper wire to porcelain insulators mounted to back side of sign face?

Cool sign restored!

I am sure I have seen one of these complete before and it had what looked like a Milk Glass lens in the round opening. What size is the round opening? Maybe a globe lens would fit??????

Good thought, 18 inches across. What fleetwing lense is there?

Might think about having T-way/Pogo create a lens in that size w/ the Bird in flight.

Craig, Here is a couple pics I took after cleaning the sign. BEFORE the neon was added...
You can see original mounting holes around large hole...
I was told it help a clock in it by the owner I purchased it from...

Wow, that is a really pretty sign--it glows even without the neon.

NICE SIGN, My holes are a little bigger in two spots, I wonder why they just didn't make to smaller ones like the others. Yours also has small holes around the round part in which a clock bezel would have been screwed on, where mine does not. This is why this is so confusing to me, was it a clock or as other said just a possible milk glass or globe in there. I need an old picture to see what mine should have been. The gloss and condition of yours is just great, where mine is going to have to be repainted in order to look good.
Thanks Craig
PS What year do you think this would be?
