If it is in your house, you should remove the electrical manifold and rewire it. Better than burning down your house.

Open one of the doors and find the conduit coming down to the bottom of the pump housing. Inside this conduit are 2 wires you need to tap into with a 2 wire electrical cord. If the pump is gutted--no trouble, as the junction box and wires will be in plain view! Not gutted---Uh Oh--but it can still be done. Find the junction box at the bottom of the pump and get the cover off. Find out which 2 wires head UP the conduit and those are the 2 that you tap into. Be sure to disconnect the others so that the motor doesn't run and spit fuel all over and start a fire! LOL The time for wiring the pump is out in the shop!

Don't let DBs comments bother you, this is the way he has fun.
My advice, the last thing you should be conserned about is the electric light. You haven't even told us if this is a unrestored or restored pump, or what condition it is in.
Until then, don't mess with the electric part, especially in the house.

Qt maybe 2 at most. IF it happens to catch fire, might burn like old diesel or old varnish. Most will remove everything below the Veeder-Root calculator.

You can expect to find as much as a quart of fluid. It is messy and stinky. Good idea to take an old blanket or cardboard and place it underneath the pump while you are removing the pumping mechanism. That way you won't risk any oily stains on your cement floor. If you get any on the floor it'll smell for a week or two. Remove the components and keep upright and drain them in a drain pan. You will need to drain them by turning them upside down and side to side as the gas is caught in pockets and chambers in the components. If you don't drain them each time you move them around they will leak and make a mess on the floor. Like DB said it won't burn that well. But it is a good idea to work in a well ventilated area and take all the precautions that you would take when handling flammable liquids.
