Hi everyone! I'm looking for Boyle-Dayton Vizio parts for my model 83. If you have parts or know of a source, please let me know!

Here are a few Items I need...

1.) Original BD Nozzle. That will fit when I close the door.
2.) Preferably original lock that fits in door
3.) Air operation parts
4.) All Tags (Model/Serial#) originally riveted on skins, not remake stickers.
5.) Original Handle and pump
6.) MISC Parts

Thanks! Ryan

Ryan:
Have alot of interior parts for air and other ones. The lock assembly is the tough one, try lock shops in your area and bring the door with you. Some of the shops have NOS ones, but you will have to get real lucky. The nozzles we used seem to work fine and have enclosed a picture. Will check for original tags, but they usually are pretty beat up. There is also a picture of the parts that I have for inside or the top. Please let me know if there is any use for these. Come across these quite a bit, and there are other parts that we have to cast off of. Do not think that I have anymore of the handles though.

The nozzle shown in my B-D literature for the 83 sure looks like a Gas-O-Gun nozzle.

Also, according to the pictures the nozzle goes through a round holder, it doesn't hang on the side of the pump.

I've had a number of the BDs with the hook. Gas-O-Gun is the ONLY nozzle that will fit properly in those pumps...even though I remember a few years back getting chastised on this site when I said Gas-O-Gun was the way to go on some of these 83's smile

Hello everyone! I was amazed to see all the activity I started over 4 months ago on my BD Visible! I look like a jackass for not responding! I wish the forum had some sort of email alert to notify me, I had no idea!
<Craig> You have set the bar pretty high with your beautiful restored BD pumps. Do you have any suggestions on where I can obtain the brass nozzle, hose, key lock and brass hose valve? Did you do the restoration yourself? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!
<Frank> I would definitely be interested in the brass pump nozzle and any other parts that you are willing to part with. Do you have any advice or tips on this restoration? Pics of original pump would be great!

I still haven't taken the skins off to see what I am dealing with, but I do plan on doing so soon. I have a feeling the skins, pump and other parts may not be original which would explain a lot! I would like to obtain the original parts if possible to complete the restoration. Does anyone have a BD vizo or other visible pump that is in use? I would like to use this pump for my toys, but will probably change my mind after all the money I have to invest into this project!

Hope to hear from you all soon!
Thanks!
Ryan

As you have pictured, there were many nozzle applications. I have found the lock on ebay by just watching the old locks, going to a large locksmith shop and asking for old locks with a picture of what I need. Key is easier after finding lock. Handle I believe is another just watch ebay or ask in the wanted section here with a picture. I have not done the picture before and no one knows what I am talking about. Dick Bennett has sent me BD pictured patent details before which are very helpful, and Jack Sims has a book that again shows pictures. I saw a nicely restored one this weekend which had the hose mount on it for the resting place of the nozzle. We did this color scheme a couple of years back, think that you will really enjoy it.
Good luck

Wow she's a beauty!!! Where are you getting your brass check valves? Do you restore for other people? If so I would be really interested in having you do mine! I love little side projects, but I want someone who knows what he's doing! Your pictures have suggested that you are the BD Assembly line! Let me know!

Thanks!

This was not my pump, though he used the same pattern as we used on the 850 two years ago. He did a real nice job on all the brass work and colors. He sold it either Saturday or Sunday morning. Really kept catching my eye. Think that I will do the same on my two visibles of the same make. Just like the pattern and the way it looks.
