I wish you luck as I just moved over the new year. I spent two months packing stuff, bit by bit and I am still un-packing. I little help when I packed though was just boxing up stuff that I knew I didn't want to mess with anymore and took it to auction. Cleared up a lot of room for new stuff, not to mention I got a bigger place too!

Shrink wrapping the globe, then wrapping with bubble wrap.

Place some bubble wrap in bottom of the box and place the globe in it.

Done for the night. I got 12 globe down and boxed and the globe rings down and lighting.

Fun isn't it! You're moving globes and I had to move 100's and 100's of cans and 100's of signs....thankfully none had to be tediously wrapped with alot of care.

BTW, I had about 22 boxes left over after making 2 trips to the box manufacturer.
I guess better to over buy and be prepared.

I've done that same task at many of the Matthews auctions in the last 5-6 years.....in some cases 30-40 in a few hours. It will wear you out pretty quick.

I moved 2 years ago and it is an arduous task boxing all your collection. But, now I have room to diplay it all and I was finding stuff that had been boxed for years. Like a whole new find...
Good luck on the move.

Richard, I am boxing about 12 globes in 1 1/2 hours. I guess i am a little more careful. LOL
I did find a body that was cracked that i am sure wasn't when it went up on the shelf. I am doing all this by myself and taking down the wiring and lights and removing globe rings to.
