I got word tonight from Jack Sim's wife Cindy that Jack had a heart attack yesterday. He is currently hospitalized and in stable condition.

Jack has done a great service to the hobby with his book Illustrated Guide to Gas Pumps. He has spent many, many hours devoted to sharing knowledge on air meters and gas pumps.

Occasionally he rubs someone the wrong way, but there is no denying that he has changed our hobby for the better.

I'll be praying for a quick and complete recovery. Please post your thoughts here and I'll ask Cindy to print the page and bring it to him to cheer him up.

I'm praying for you Jack. I hope you have a speedy recovery. You got to get better soon so you can share more of that knowledge. I've about wore out my gas pump book and I've really been enjoying those Picture of the Day posts you've been doing. I look forward to seeing more once you get better.

Jack,

I had the same experience, 14 years ago, even went through a quad bypass. The medical community has made tremendous strides with heart treatment. That's why after all these years and three additional stents and a defbrillator I am still able to continue doing things I enjoy. I liken the experience to an old car or gas pump that needs the carb rebuilt or a gasket replaced. I wish you the best.

Jack, I too want to wish you a very speedy recovery. I have had 4 heart attacks now and if your doctors are as good as mine, and I'm sure they are, you will be up and making trouble for your love ones over the holidays.
Get well soon.
Bob
