This old sign spent most of its life covering a hole in the roof of my Grandfathers garage. He worked for years at the Amalie refiney in Franklin,Pa. but was killed in the fire there in 1970. So being a young child I never got to ask him much about this old sign. A few years ago I tore down his garage and saved this old sign. I was wondering if anyone knows any history of this company. This sign now hangs in my living room and I'm very proud to know that it once belonged to my late Grandfather.I hpe i can getthe picture to list too.

Thank you Doug,This sign lead my wife and I to start collecting all types of antiques now with a house full and my garage full of antique gas engines (my other hobby ) I dissided to do something for my other Grandfather who worked for Atlantic , I rebuild this gas pump I found in a dump (swamp is more like it ) it now stands at the end of my sidewalk as a night light. In the picture is me wearing his shirt from Atlantic too. Thanks to everyone here at this great site I hope you all enjoy this as much as I have.

Hello Bruce, fellow PA'er. Great Erie Clockface, that's my kind of swamp! I have no info from Vanango Refining Co, so can't help you there but a cool sign for sure, good job saving both and thanks for the look.

BRUCE, IF YOU SEND ME A NICE QUALITY SHOT OF THAT SIGN I COULD MAYBE REPRODUCE THAT LABEL AND CREATE A CAN (OR SEVERAL) FOR YOU. I WOULD NEED A STRAIGHT ON PARALLEL SHOT (NO ANGLES AND NOT OFF CENTER....DEAD ON AND SQUARE).
UP TO YOU!
