I think the mods need to address this more clearly. I've posted some threads that contain eBay numbers. They were meant to be discussions, as such posted them in the discussion forum. I see people listing things they have for sale on eBay in the for sale section instead of the eBay section where they belong. I think there needs to be a clear line drawn. The eBay forum does not specify petroliana or not. Does this mean everything related to eBay should be posted in that forum, regardless of what you're asking or discussing? I think everyone would benefit if we knew the answer.

The following are the descriptions of the two forums on our "Forum List" page. We consider that and the individual guidelines for each forum to be the lines drawn for what goes where.

For Sale or Trade Petroliana -
Free ads for gas station collectibles and auto service memorabilia. Reproduction items must be identified as such. Submit eBay announcements in our "Online Auctions, eBay" forum category. Please review "Guidelines" post at top of forum

Online Auctions, eBay Petroliana -
Buying and selling questions and tips, reproduction or fraud warnings and other auction issues. Post your petroliana auction announcement here.

Everything related to "petroliana" eBay items should be placed in the "Online Auctions, eBay Petroliana" category. Non-Petro items belong in the Non-Petro forum according to the guidelines for that forum.

It seems no matter how we try to make the rules as clear as possible, a few don't read the rules or don't think it applies to them. When a member clicks a "Notify" button in a topic that appears to be in the wrong forum category, the moderators always take a look at it and take action, if it is deemed the proper thing to do.

The moderators don't always catch every incident. If a member feels a post is in the wrong forum, has objectionable content or otherwise breaks the guidelines, we would appreciate getting a "Notify" message to give us a heads-up about it.

Thanks,
Jim
