I am starting to collect the Mail Pouch tobacco advertising. I have 3 of the 39" thermometers now. I dont have any smaller ones or a porcelain one yet.
But here is my question. I am having trouble finding a resource or someone with some expertise in this area. How many variations of the thermometers and signs did they produce? How can you tell the era of each? And last i hear the thermometers with the lipped edges are repros. My three do not have the lipped edge. Is this true? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have one 39" porcelain one, I know nothing about them. I would like to know how to date them.

I just bought my 3rd one. I still don't have the porcelain one though. I found out there was a book called "The art of Mail Pouch Tobacco Advertising". I can't find that either. LOL

...Amazon doesn't list it - are you sure you have the correct title?
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Doug someone in my area had a 5 or 6 ft one. It was like $1,100 I think. If u r interested I can look to see if it's still on Craigslist. It's porcelain.
