I'm in the middle of a Tokheim 34 restore. Does anyone have a picture they can post of the side where the nozzle rests? There is a handle that comes out next to the nozzle and below the site glass. I'm not sure what goes on the end, or what it looks likes. Also if anyone has the correct knob let me know if it's for sale.(Obviously mine is missing) Thanks in advance.

There should be an on/off forked lever and lock bar combo on that side that the nozzle rests on.Below where the spout goes into the cabinet.
The computer reset handle is on opposite side.Along with a totalizer door.
If my memory serves me correctly the light switch is accessed through a hole in the bottom skin.....I don't know what else there could be.
Unless I have missed something it sounds like someone has monkeyed with your pump Mr. Monkey.

Nothing Monkeyed...just fortunate enough to get a complete 34 with a missing knob. If I can't find what I need I'll just drill out an 8 ball. I would post my own pictures to be more expliced but the panels are being blasted and everything else was sent off today to get chromed.

The nozzle and shut off are all there. The reset handle on the opposite side it there as well. However there is a handle (bar) that comes out on the left side of the nozzle assembly. It has a bezel and everything around it. It is spring loaded and the handle comes out of the pump about 2" then turns down on a 45 degree angle and extends another 6 to 7". There should be some type of knob or something that goes on the end of it. Every picture I've seen doesn't show this handle, the bezel and everything else is factory. Like I say this is spring loaded. The 1" feed pipe inside comes up and is bent and runs along the top and feeds the siteglass. There is a square box type bracket that slides over the feed pipe and is bolted to the top. This handle is attached inside that bracket and is attached to a rod. (Maybe a manuel safety cutoff.)

Anyway's, after all that said, If someone could post a picture of the handle/receiver side of a Tokheim 34, I can take it from there. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Not seen one on the 34 but on the 36 & 36B [& many other pumps], there was a shaft that connected to the hose for shutting off the pump. So when the nozzle was left in customers vech. & drove off, it would shut off the motor in pump.
Referred to as a N.Y. Shut Off.

Maybe someone other than Jack Sim can supply a picture. Jack arrived in Calif. today & won't be home for 10 days.

The rod does go to the motor, so that would make sense.

LOL...
I guess back then the pumps weighed enough and were piped with galv pipe the hose would break instead of pulling the pump off the island. What DB said make sense . They have devices now that are check valves with shear pins inline in the hose for drive offs.
NYC must have strict fire codes, I have seen several devices that have been certified for NYC, on the tag. Water heaters , gas pumps, heaters etc.

Great, thanks for posting the picture.
Wow, mine is identical except this handle I'm talking about comes out of the side, 3"to 4" below the site glass. The handle is connected to a rod that then goes to the back of the motor. All the bezels, bracketry, and equipment is all factory.

I can invision a white ball with maybe Tokheim etched in red into it going on the end of this shaft/handle. Maybe someone else who has this set up can post a picture of theirs. If not, I'll just have to post a picture once I get it back together.
