I've just returned from a three day 1800 mile road trip gathering petro artifacts, and wanted to share this story.Anyone who's been connected with this site for a while will get a chuckle out of this.(we did.)
I bought a pump on ebay from a fellow collector in Salt Lake City ,Utah. After travelling two days to his storage facility,he rolls up the door and several pumps appear before our eyes.I spot a forlorn Tokheim 36B right away(no sides or doors, but a perfect original top.)"How much for the 36?"we ask."Oh,I'm sorry.A gentleman saw it in the background of my ebay auction photos and has already contacted me to buy it."
"Was his name Dick Bennett?" I ask."Yes! How in the world did you know that?"
A Tok.36B top in nice shape.....LOL! How did I ever guess??The long arm of Mr. Bennett reaches out and snags another one for the infamous twin towers..........Nice job,Dick!
You are the undisputed King of the 36B... Tim Hansen
