I had one for sale at Fred's Gas Bash and nobody even looked at it ! Look's like it's time to start listing items on eBay again.

Mine is repainted but I only paid $12 for it at Mid Mich show. Repaint or not I couldn't pass it up for $12.
I don't know for sure, but all the orginal painted ones I've seen have a green base, so my guess is this is a repaint also.

Someone is going to be awefull upset with themselves after they research the real value of what they just paid $212 bucks for.

WOW!!! What do you mean? These were never actually issued/sold/given away by Texaco?

The door stops have been talked about before on OG. It appears Texaco stations never had them, just another fantasy piece.

Another reason, a good portion of us recommend buying the Collectors Guides.... While no book can have all the items used by a specific Company... The guides do have a very good selection (IMO) of the most common and even photos/drawings of some of the rarer items... Plus, someone else has "done all the heavy lifting" where it comes to research....

I got taken in as well many years ago when i first started collecting. I use it as a door stop and everytime I look at it it reminds me to be careful....
