Im selling a pump plate, just like one that sold the other day for 230. mine hasnt reached a quarter of that. So i looked at the bidding on the other one, and what do you know......Somebody needs to clean house at ebay, I cant believe what some people get away with. must be nice not having a conscience.

Will do. gotta go to work now. All they are is the shell plastic pump plates. Didnt think one would go for 230. Not worried about what i get, was talking about in general. fake signs, clocks, india, shill bidding, ect. they know it goes on, but continue buisness as usual.

I gave up long ago alerting Ebay about shill bidding or anything else. They have zero motivation to do anything about it, just the opposite, they make money off it so why should they bother. They're a corporation who's job it is to make money, it doesn't require scruples, sad but true.

I'm a naturally suspicious and cynical human being and have watched ebay bidding patterns a long time and like to think I know a shill bid when I see one. However, I recently sold a 12" round Gulf No Nox sign on ebay, and as I watched the bidding I saw a pattern that almost made me email a person whom I knew was a serious bidder and say "hey, I really don't know who this guy is that seems to be pushing the bid up suspiciously." Dang, I hate it that as I get older I seem to not be so smart anymore.

Another phenomenom I have observed on ebay over the years is that an item will have what I call "stupid bidding" and an exact item listed at the same time will have little or no activity.

The last point is so true. It's as if 2 people with no or little knowledge are bidding against each other for the same item. I just can't seem to ever get those types of people on any of my auctions.
