I'm not a fan of repops, especially the unmarked ones, and I won't buy one based on principle, BUT--that is a quality repop. Nice decorator piece!

Isn't REPOPS wonderful????? Just think in another few years, this will probably be on the market as "old original" from my Grandfathers collection"....Who will know?

Very true DB, and I use reproduction metal every time I restore an "original" pump, but its the unmarked signs and globes that irritate me.

Repop parts are NOT Marked, why mark anything else? Mark ALL your Repop parts so that when anyone looking at your completed pump they can see real quick which parts have been replaced w/ REPOPS. WE know that ain't gonna happen, Same w/ Signs & Globes. What's good for the Goose is Also good for the Gander.

big difference between using NEW SHEET METAL on a pump restoration and a repo sign or globe, that is not marked.every time you restore a pump, you should mark all new sheet metal? i don't think so.just my 3 cents.

db,you mean to tell me,if you have any restored pumps in your collection, you mark all new sheet metal,so future buyers or collectors know that.like i said ,i don't think so.an original gas pump will always be original.a repop sign or globe will always be a phoney!

I do not believe that I personally have ever owned or even seen an "original" pump....
I have personally seen pumps that were found still on pallets, but each had a "sticker" on them stating that they had been "reconditioned"....
If a pump was actually used at a station; then I can almost guarantee that internals, hose, nozzle and most likely panels and glass had at one time or another been replaced...
To often I read about "original" pumps.... During my time in the Hobby: I haven't talked to a Collector; who had multiple decades under their belt, who used the term "original pump".....
Especially those Collectors who actually worked in/at a Station before the 1970s....
