Mine is pretty simple, worked on and drove a Humvee in the Marine Corps many years ago. When they came out in 94 I always wanted the luxury of the civilian model....hahaha lol so I bought mine in 1995.

I've been collecting stuff for quite awhile, petro is only a small part of it but I love the history & the hunt.

My name is Steve Z & I'm an addict !

The first sign I bought was the "For use as a motor fuel only CONTAINS LEAD (tetraethyl). I saw it a garage sale along with the early oval Texaco Handy oiler. Just thought it was a unique name for my online stuff. It was the beginning of my addiction.

I am really glad I found this site and would like to thank all of you who make this website a phenominal resource as well as a good time seeing what everyone else has.

My user name is Big B because my last name starts with a B and my friends used to call me B ( it was easier than my last name). And since my son is now little b I had to be Big B. Me and my son go out and hunt old petro items and other vintage goodies.
He says I'm an GASOHOLIC and I'll stand up at any meeting proudly and state its true!!

I have no imagination like a lot of the other members, so I just used my first 2 initials for abbreviation sake, along with my last name! It stands for Kevin William Frith!

My nickname came about from my native state (Texas) and my occupation (oilman). I grew up in and around the awl bidness, so it seemed the thing to do.

My User Name came about because I am a UPS Delivery Driver and I find the old gas pumps that I collect when I am out delivering to peoples homes.

I don't know how I got to this thread but reading it was a real pleasure. First it was started by DB and second there were many surprising answers.
Since I missed it I thought I would resuscitate it as many new members have joined and might add their explanations.

Like many when prompted, I could not think of a handle right of the top of my head. The gasman label that I wanted was already chosen in multiple forms so I used a mangled zip code of a city I visit often. My avatar is our family's best friend who looked so guilty (who, me?) in the picture that it's a keeper.

Great thread! Born on and raised on 66 towns in Northern AZ, both parents and grandparents made a living on/along 66 in some capacity. I'm a 5th generation Native Arizonian to boot!

Avatar, wanted to quickly show what I would be after....just in case anyone has an old road sign they were willing to part with.

I have driven and always liked MACKS since was a kid. I have a 55 B model and a 82 Superliner sitting in the shed. Old dog is for the old B model.
